Homing Device: Mobile marketers can find you anywhere and everywhere. Will their quest for big bucks infringe on people’s privacy?

Tom Cruise seems to have as much influence on the mobile marketing universe than almost any other figure. Listen in on a panel at a mobile conference, hear a pitch from a mobile ad sales person or spark up a conversation with almost any digital media executive about the future of the medium, and it’s nearly always the same: “Eventually you’re going to be walking by a Starbucks, and you’re going to get a mobile offer for a discounted Frappuccino. Or you’ll be walking by a Gap, and it’ll send a personalized coupon for khakis to your phone. You know, like in Minority Report?”
